At Sportcat we consider medicals to be very important. We believe they’re necessary to enjoy sport in a healthy way. Unfortunately people don’t find it important to undergo a check-up that could prevent injuries and/or illnesses that could put the athlete at risk. A Medical is not only to get a pass for your federation’s profile. It must include tests performed by professionals that can rule out any cardiac illnesses that could cause sudden death. At Sportcat we perform several types of medicals, depending on the patient and its needs. All of them are enough to pass a federation’s profile.

BASIC TEST A
For children aged between 7 and 14 years old. Anamnesis, complete physical, height, weight, flexibility, body composition by octapolar bio impedance, growth curve, EKG in 12 derivations, blood pressure at rest.

BASIC TEST B
As of 14 years of age, unless otherwise demanded by the patient. Anamnesis, complete physical, height, weight, flexibility, body composition by octapolar bio impedance, growth curve, EKG in 12 derivations, blood pressure at rest. Submaximal stress test up to 85% of MHR according to age. To be done on stationary bike or Treadmill. Monitored at all times by EKG in 12 derivations and by taking blood pressure measurings during effort.

PERFORMANCE TEST- PLATINIUM
History, complete physical, height, weight, elasticity, body composition by octapolar bio impedance, growth curve, EKG with 12 derivations, resting blood pressure. Maximal stress test up to 100% of maximum heart rate o by incapability of effort. To be done on stationary bike or treadmill according to sport practiced by patient. Test taken at all times with EKG with 12 derivations, synchronized with blood pressure measurements during effort. In the test we’ll also calculate the patient’s VO2max, the anaerobic threshold, aerobic segments, maximum effort, maximum blood pressure and maximum real heart rate.

PERFORMANCE TEST- GOLD
The most complete of the tests at Sportcat. With such a test we can determine the athlete’s level of fitness that can be compared to previous tests and make it possible to assess the quality and progress of the training sessions. This test included the Platinium test and adds a resting spirometry, calculating all parts of the lungs and reserves capacities. Spirometry in effort to rule out lung illnesses such us obstructions or restrictions. A lactate test is also performed. All these values make it easier to evaluate the fitness level of the patient.

PHYSICAL TOWARDS UNDERWATER ACTIVITIES
The patient can get the certification by either doing the Gold Performance Test or a Basic Test B + basal spirometry + effort spirometry. Test conducted by sports medicine doctors, fully certified by CRIS.
