Medical fitness assessments for scuba diving

*Subject to availability. The request is not binding. We will contact you to confirm the appointment.

Sports medical assessments for scuba diving fitness are conducted by a sports medicine specialist certified by CRIS in hyperbaric medicine.

At Sportcat, fitness for scuba diving is granted upon passing the GOLD test or the BASIC B assessment + resting and forced spirometry. This is mainly because, during scuba diving, the body is exposed to an unusual environment with pressure inversion, where the respiratory and auditory pathways must be fully functional.

Tympanic perforation, arterial duct, hypertension, heart conditions, COPD, bronchospasms, among other pathologies, would contraindicate fitness and must be ruled out during the assessment we perform.
